The directors of selected films who will be attending as guests of the Festival will participate in in-depth discussion forums after the screening of their films, giving other filmmakers, media students and the general public a chance to probe the directors about their work. These discussions will be hosted by established Irish documentary directors and producers.
Funded by The Irish Film Board and Kultur.
Seminar/Debate
The Seminar/Debate on 'Exploring Family Through Personal Films and Found Footage' will be chaired by Sunniva O'Flynn, curator of the Irish Film Archive, who will be joined by a panel of four Irish and International film-makers. Showing clips from the 4 guest filmmakers' work, the seminar will give the filmmakers the opportunity to discuss the power of found footage in their own personal films, the moral and ethical issues behind using found footage to reveal intimate family subjects and the technical difficulties of working with different formats.
