USA, 2006, 99 mins
Director: Eric Metzgar
Screening times:
2:30pm Friday (Cinemobile)

The Chances of the World Changing is a visually stunning and intimate portrait of one man's unbelievable mission. This poetic film follows Richard Ogust, a writer living in Manhattan, who has set aside his life's work to devote himself to rescuing hundreds of endangered turtles and tortoises from extinction.
Richard struggles to manage his growing collection of animals-- 1200 turtles and tortoises in all-- one of the largest private collections in the world. While preparing to create the country's largest turtle conservation institute, he encounters an endless onslaught of obstacles. As his collection grows, his resources diminish, and the enormous ark he's built begins to sink.
This award-winning, lyrical film transforms one man's amazing story into a grand parable about the power of love and the potential for change.
