Jinx Lennon is a legend. In Dundalk. You wouldn’t want him singing at your wedding. There’d be no dancing, no Sweet Caroline and no lovely waltz for the Bride and Groom. You might get some folk punk crossed with Irish rap. A stream of consciousness from the polluted Dundalk docks that batters you relentlessly with its common sense, its anger and its arch eyed take on the septic tiger. He’s an original character from a town that only Dundalk people could love or understand. Or maybe you’d like the shops if you were from the country. But not that much. Burger vans and council houses, street living and the grim beauty of standing up for yourself in a world of racism, unemployment and violence. Dundalk style. Noisemaker portrays the man and the place, the partner and the parents, and shows us the strength of the stage performer that is Jinx Lennon.
Jinx will also perform in the festival club (Maggie Dan's) on Saturday 12th May with Paula Flynn.
