Opening Night & Opening Film

The Guth Gafa Documentary Festival 2008 will be officially opened on Thursday 15th May by Colm O’ Gorman, executive director of Amnesty Ireland. Also speaking at the opening, on behalf of our major funder, Údarás na Gaeltachta, will be Senator Brían Ó Domhnaill.
The Opening Film for Guth Gafa 2008 is ‘This Way Up’ by Georgy Lazarevski, and the director will be attending the opening. This Way Up is one of 6 films from our 2008 programme that we are showing with Amnesty’s support.
The Opening Film will be preceded by a reception in the foyer of Óstán Loch Altan, which begins at 7.30pm, and will be followed by a selection of traditional music in the bar after the screening.
