This documentary in four episodes centres on four women in their sixties portrayed by their daughters. Reflecting this very personal bond is extremely challenging considering the lifelong, always emotional, sometimes ambiguous, and often unquestioned relationship, between mother and daughter. The film pursues this intimacy, revealing its silent, loving and challenging aspects. The unconditionally private approach is also reflected in the fact that each episode was filmed and edited by the respective daughter. Four intimate episodes, each focusing on a personal relationship, connect to a broader view of a universal issue: mothers - and their daughters. The film interweaves eight biographies, revealing aspects of motherhood through the private lense of the next generation.
