Joan López (Barcelona, 1969) Studied direction at CEEC (1988) and specialized in photography at Centre Calassanç/ESCAC (1988-1990) in Barcelona. He has worked as a camera operator, photography director and director since 1990 in TV series, documentaries, spots and short films. He’s now focused on creative documentary. His most recent productions are Pinturas a la bestia (1990), A table, a chair and a bed (1992), Gi-SRA (El camino del agua) (1998), and Los hermanos Oligor (2004), a documentary of 85 minutes about the world of the Oligor brothers, which was awarded the Docupolis 2005 award and Malaga’s Festival’05 award. By now, Los hermanos Oligor is screening in several cinemas in Spain. It is distributed by Karma Films. His last production has been Utopia 79 (2006), a cinema documentary about Barcelona and the Sandinistas revolution.
