Guth Gafa 2008 ended on an emotional note on Sunday 18th May with the closing film, Louise Hogarth’s poignant and moving Angels in The Dust. After 3 days of glorious sunshine, and more than 30 equally glorious films, the 3rd edition of our documentary festival drew to a close. This year we were delighted to see a marked increase in attendance from visitors from around Ireland and abroad, with all local hotel, B&Bs and youth hostels filled to near-capacity for the weekend. All our invited international directors spoke highly of the quality of the programme, and, as importantly, of the warmth and friendliness of the Festival team and the local people. After a few short weeks break, the Guth Gafa Festival team will move on to planning our 2009 event. A big, big thank you to everyone who attended the films this year, and to all our sponsors, friends and supporters.
